This is the fifth book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, This book takes place about 2 weeks after the previous novel.

Vishous has been having nightmares, he keeps seeing himself being shot. It is the only vision he has had in ages. While he is out hunting Lessers one night he is shot in the chest and ends up in a human emergency room, where he is operated on by a human surgeon. As his brothers are rescuing him from the recovery room, V has his first vision in ages, Jane, the surgeon must go with them.
Jane quickly realizes that V is very different. She is unsure what to do about it. But she feels she must do something.
