Sex and the Single Vampire ~ Katie MacAlister

this is the second book in the Dark Ones series. Christian, who we met in Single Girls Guide to Vampires, is in London for a book signing, and visiting with Joy, Raphael and Roxy. While in London, he meets Allegra, Allie for short, a Summoner there on tour, visiting haunted places in town trying to document ghosts and summon them. Allegra agrees to help Christian find a friend of his who has disappeared, and they have a great adventure.

Thanksgiving ~ Janet Evanovich

This is one of her early romances, it is Very cute, and entertaining, not as funny as the Stephanie Plum novels, but I can see the start of them . Tells the story of Megan, a part time ticket taker, part time potter, and Pat, a pediatrician. As a baby is dropped in their laps and they can't bear to call CPS, so they take care of it till the mother returns. Along with all the happenings and mishaps along the way.

Out of Control ~ Suzanne Brockmann

This is the fourth novel in the Troubleshooter's series. It tells the story of Savannah, a young lawyer who needs to make a trip to Indonesia to deliver a large amount of money to help her uncle, and enlists the aid of Ken Karmody, a Navy Seal with Team Sixteen's Troubleshooters unit. We follow their adventures and misadventures to and through Indonesia. We also get to hear the story of Savannah's grandmother, a double agent between the US and Germany during WWII..

I really enjoyed this novel, it was very entertaining, and so engrossing I could barely put it down.

The Unsung Hero ~ Suzanne Brockmann

This is the first book in the Troubleshooters series. This is the story of a Navy Seal who has been injured and goes home on leave to visit his family. While there he thinks he sees a terrorist that he has spent a great deal of time hunting in the past, but is presumed to be dead now. He meets the girl he loved before he left, and tries to deal with the impending death of her father, who happens to be his uncle's best friend for over 60 years, all while trying to determine if he actually is seeing this terrorist, or if he is going crazy.

I really enjoyed this novel, it reminds me a great deal of Catherine Coulter's FBI series. Lots of mystery and suspense with several plot twists. It kept me enthralled!

Whirlpool ~ Elizabeth Lowell

This is a reprint of an older Ann Maxwell book called Ruby, I didn't realize this at first, but since I hadn't read Ruby, I still enjoyed it.

The book tells the story of jewelry designer Laurel Swann, whose father has stolen a previously unknown Faberge egg, and now the owners are after her for it. Along the way she meets Cruz Rowan, an ex FBI agent who is trying to recover the egg. They team up and do what they can to keep from being killed, and to return the egg to its owners.

This book has a similar feeling to it as Lowell's Donovan series, which I loved, so I found this one quite enjoyable, can't wait till her next release!!

The Supernaturalist ~ Eoin Colfer

This is a Sci-fi children's novel. It tells the story of 3 teenagers, and an adult who appears to be a small child as they chase and kill what appears to be a supernatural parasite. Very entertaining, though not quite as engrossing as Eoin's Artimis Fowl series. I still can't wait to get my hands on more of his work.

Mark of Merlin ~ Anne Mccaffrey

This is one of Anne's romance novels only the third of these that I have read, I believe. Not that there are many of them to begin with. This one takes place on Cape Cod during WWII. 20 year old James Carlyle Murdock travels to meet her new guardian, Regan Laird, a Major from her father's unit who has care of her for the next few months, until she turns 21. After a string of robbery attempts and strange happenings they are trying to discover who is behind her father's death and a string of thefts from France.

I really enjoyed this, it is a pretty quick read, and different from her Sci-Fi stuff, but still very entertaining.

Less of a Stranger ~Nora Roberts (pt 2 of Dream Makers)

I really enjoyed this one, it is the story of Meg, a sculpture, who helps her grandfather, who raised her, run his carnival instead of following her dreams. until she meets David Ketcherton, an entrepreneur who is determined to own the carnival. This was a pretty good story, a reprint of one of Nora's early books.

Valley of Silence ~ Nora Roberts

This is the third and final book in the Circle Trilogy. In this book the finial battle between Man and the vampires takes place in Gaell. The circle of six humans that have spent 3 months gathering and training themselves and their army to battle the vampires finally faces the day they have been preparing for. A very interesting story, with, of course, an underlying romance. A new tale ( at least to me) , not a reworking of some old theme that has been reworked to be retold for the millionth time. I really enjoyed this one. It took me a little while to get into it, I think partly cause It had been a bit since I read the first two, and I had read so much in between, I just wasn't in the mood for this to start. Hmm... What to read next?

Origin in Death ~ J. D. Robb

Twenty Fourth in the Eve Dallas series, this one was a little bit creepy. I enjoyed it, but it touched on some issues that just kinda made my skin crawl a little. I enjoyed the growth in the relationship between Eve and Peabody from aide to partners, as well as the ongoing relationship with Peabody and McNab. Eve and Rourke's fear of pregnancy and children is quite amusing, as is their reaction every time it is mentioned that they are gonna coach for Mavis during delivery. Rourke is developing more of a relationship with his family, and by extension, Eve is learning what a family is like as well. I enjoyed this one!!

The Husband ~ Dean Koontz

I listened to most of this on Unabridged Audio book as I have spent over 8 hrs in the car with no other adult in the last two days (kids were watching DVDs) It was very engrossing and entertaining, you follow the events of a gardener from Orange, Ca. after his wife has been kidnapped and he is told the ransom is 2 million dollars. There are twists and revelations that are a bit shocking sometimes, and very enthralling. I highly recommend!! I can't wait to get my hands on Brother Odd, as it is released at the end of this month.
