Now it appears that Savannah's father wants custody, only problem is that he is a sorcerer, and sorcerer's and witches do not get along. This is the third book in the Anita Blake series. In this book there is a series of murders committed by what appears to be a rouge master vampire and his troupe. While investigating these murders, Anita encounters Alejandro, one of the oldest vampires that Anita has ever encountered. We see a great deal more Were animals in this book, especially werewolves. This book is also the first appearance of Larry, Anita's new apprentice Vampire Hunter, and Animator. We also meet Richard for the first time in Circus of the Damned, a Junior High School science teacher that for some reason, spends his time with the monsters.
