Circle of Quilters ~ Jennifer Chiaverini

This is an Elm Creek Quilts novel. It is very different from most things I read, Elm Creek Quilting Camp is hiring for 2 new positions, and have had many people apply. This books follows the quilting stories of the 5 applicants they choose to interview. Each has a different story and life, and quilting means a very different thing to each person, in the end they offer the two positions, but the positions are secondary to the story, the greatest part of the story is the people who apply.

The story was quite engrossing, and I may pick up some more of Jennifer Chiaverini's work.

Hot Target ~ Suzanne Brockmann

This is the eight book in the Troubleshooters series. It tells the story of Cosmo, a Navy SEAL with Team Sixteen, working part time for for Troubleshooters Inc. and J. Mercedes Chadwick, a Hollywood movie producer. Mercedes is making a movie about a couple of men during WWII and has started receiving death threats, when her production company hires Troubleshooters Inc. to see to her security. This story was very engrossing, and involved, it was very hard for me to put it down and do anything else, I LOVED it. I was totally surprised by the bad guy in the end, I had it totally wrong!

Untamed ~ Nora Roberts (pt 1 of Dream Makers)

The Matchmakers is 2 stories in one, so I decided to review them separately. Untamed is the story of Jo, a lion trainer with the circus, and Keane, the new owner of the circus that she has been with since she was born. They have ups and downs and it is quite a ride.

Dance of the Gods ~ Nora Roberts

This is the second book in the Circle Trilogy, it tells the story of a group called together by Morrigan to battle vampires. In this novel they travel through the Dance of the Gods to another land, where two of the circle are from, and continue to prepare for the upcoming battle. Very entertaining, and so engrossing I didn't want to put it down. I forgot to load the third onto my palm, so I will have to read it now that I am home.

Morrigan's Cross ~ Nora Roberts

This is the first book in Nora's new Circle Trilogy, it tells the story of a group called together by Morrigan to battle vampires. Hoyt and Cian are from Ireland in the tenth century, Hoyt being a sorcerer, and Cian having been turned into a vampire in his own time and lived the last thousand years. There is also Glenna, a witch from New York City in the current era, as well as 3 others from various places, who complete the 'circle' that is the base of the army that will battle the vampires. I found this book very entertaining and I look forward to reading the following two.

Witness in Death ~ J. D. Robb

Eleventh Story in the Eve Dallas Series, I enjoyed this one. We got to see more between Peabody and McNab, with McNab trying to make more of the relationship, and Peabody make less of it. Eve is learning to make the effort to show Rourke how much she loves him, even if it sometimes means taking time from the job. Rourke is still taking care of Eve, which I totally love to see. We also got to see Officer Trueheart again, from Conspiracy in Death, and I suspect we will get to see plenty more of him, so far I really like him. This was a pretty good mystery story, I knew that it was one of the main characters in the play ,and who she really was, but I hadn't yet figured out which one.

Conspiracy in Death ~ J. D. Robb

Ninth in the Eve Dallas series, I really enjoyed this story. Eve did more crossing the line in this story than in any of the previous novels, but only after they had already put her under investigation and taken her badge, but in the testing we also got to see how far she would go on the job and where she would draw the line. We got to see a ton more of Rourke and a bit more of Sommerset actually caring for Eve and not just antagonizing her. I really enjoyed it, had it figured out pretty early, at least most of it, but some of the participants surprised me. So far, this is one of the best in the series, but, again, I am only about a third of the way through the series.
