Dark Possession ~ Christine Feehan
this is the eighteenth book in the Carpathian series. Manuel De La Cruz is a Carpathian, who has lived for a millennium never really believing that he would find his life mate. Now he has been gravely injured saving a woman, and he finally finds her. MaryAnn Delaney is a counselor who treats traumatized women, who has agreed to come to South America to treat Jasmine, a Jaguar who has been abused by the men of her species. Believing Manuel to be dead she has fallen into depression, and really can't figure out why. Once Manuel rises and is reunited with MaryAnn, they determine that there are other forces behind what is going on.

Dark Celebration ~ Christine Feehan
This is the seventeenth novel in the Dark series. In this novel the goal is for all the Carpathians to get together and celebrate the Christmas season, but there are problems from the start. The women are determined to prepare the entire feast in 'the human manner' and there are several problems that arise from being unfamiliar with the methods, or simply that it has been so long since they actually did anything like we do. Added to this problem is that there seems to be attacks being made on the Carpathians. More than one of them encounters a vampire, and the vampires have new tricks up their sleeves too!
